Assignment Summary

Well i found the assignment to be rather enjoyable. The goals where pretty straight forward, and there were a lot of topics to choose from. I was able to switch topics if one wasn't working out which was great.

The biggest issue i had, was finding relevant resources that could be referenced. I used a couple of different ways to find sources: Google scholar, Portal and IT specific journals. In combination I was able to find the true source of certain articles and journals without needing to pay or sign up for it.

Often, the articles were rather large, and most of the content was irrelevant. I had to ditch a few of the topics due to a lack of info.

The topics i did end up choosing were interesting and relevant to my interests. Internet policy, regulation and security are very important in ensuring the Internet works as a public space for all to enjoy. They have become the most important issues facing officials and users alike and will continue to be as the Internet expands and becomes more popular.

As the assignment had no real structure (didn't need a specific writing structure as you would in writing an essay), it provided me with a lot of freedom to add some of my own opinions and comment on what industry experts had to say.

Finally, as much as i hate referencing (don't we all!), i really got into the swing of things when writing the annotated bibliographies...maybe because i had to right eight of them haha

Annotation

Annotated bibliographies are a great way to summarise and represent sources of information.

In a couple of paragraphs, its easy to determine the purpose, usefulness and tone of an article/site/etc without needing to find it and read through it all.

Helps greatly for research where you could find a number of sources, but unsure if they are relevant.

Distracted

Well I was making progress on the tutes until the assignment came around and I lost my job. Time to fill in the rest.

Although its become quite apparent that my organisation of the tasks in the blog leaves a lot to be desired :s

Bit hard to follow what blog entry relates to what question.

Ah well, i just hope the lecturers can follow what i've done...
